Thank You for a Great Day of Golf ⛳
On August 14th, under a stretch of perfect summer weather, UB Rugby alumni gathered at Marine Park Golf Course in Brooklyn for the inaugural UBRAA Golf Tournament. What started as an idea after Alumni Weekend 2025 transpired into an event with all the signs of a new tradition a year later. With the combined effort of the Board, Paul Schenkel, and Guy Maranga, 40 golfers showed up ready to play, reconnect, and help support the UB Rugby program, and they delivered.

All 10 groups came out swinging, and in a surprise to just about everyone, far fewer golf balls were lost than expected. The friendly competition stayed tight throughout the day, but ultimately Joe Ferrick, Eric Fritsch, Greg Lisi, and Lou Padulla claimed the top spot, with Greg also taking home closest to the pin.
And that’s exactly where next year comes in.
To grow this event into something even bigger with more golfers, more alumni engagement, more momentum, we need more alumni to help shape this tournament next year. This is a chance to build something meaningful, strengthen the alumni network, and most importantly help the club.
