UB Rugby 2023 Alumni Weekend Announced

Updated: May 4, 2023

The UBRAA is happy to announce details for our 40th UB Rugby Alumni Weekend being held at UB during the weekend of May 5-7, 2023. This year we are continuing our new tradition of honoring a team or individual from UB Rugby history and inducting them into our Hall of Fame. This year we are honoring the UB Rugby teams of 1998-2003 who notched several big playoff wins including a Northeast Playoffs upset against Dartmouth in 2001 and the 2002 NYS Rugby Conference D1 Championship.

Our Alumni Weekend '23 tentative schedule is as follows: Friday, May 5 - Social at Forty Thieves Bar from 6:30-9:30pm. Forty Thieves is owned and operated by Brian "Scanz" Scanlon, who played on the 1998-2003 team. Saturday, May 6 - Saturday is a rugby day! UB Rugby will be hosting a home match to show off the development of the program. Game time, location, and opponent TBA. Saturday, May 6 - Saturday night we head to Jackrabbit Buffalo from 6-10pm for our annual UBRAA Alumni Banquet where we will enjoy food and drink as we celebrate UB Rugby, and induct the 1998-2003 UB Rugby team into the UB Rugby Hall of Fame.

Suggested donation for attending alumni weekend is $200 to help cover the cost of this year's events. If you unable to attend alumni weekend this year, we ask that you please consider making a $100 donation to sponsor the cost of an undergrad. Please RSVP to let us know if you are coming so we are prepared for your attendance, especially if you are part of this year's HOF team. We look forward to seeing everyone again!
